# Plans and rate limits

> Soroswap Aggregator API plans by request rate, how the limit is enforced, and the headers that tell you where you stand.

API access is priced by request rate, independently of swap fees.

| Plan | Rate limit | Price |
| - | - | - |
| Free | 1 request/s | US\$0 |
| Starter | 10 requests/s | US\$25 / month |
| Professional | 50 requests/s | US\$100 / month |
| Business | 100 requests/s | US\$350 / month |

Partners with a signed integration agreement get the Starter plan included. Paid plans are
activated on request while self-service billing is not available. Swap fees are described in
[Fees and revenue share](/api/fees).

## How the limit works

Each key has a token bucket: a short burst above the sustained rate is allowed, then requests
refill at the plan's rate. `GET /rate-limits/tiers` returns the burst size and refill rate of
every plan, and needs no key.

Every response carries your current standing:

| Header | Meaning |
| - | - |
| `X-RateLimit-Limit` | The burst size of your plan |
| `X-RateLimit-Remaining` | Requests you can make right now |
| `X-RateLimit-Reset` | Seconds until the bucket is full again |
| `Retry-After` | Only on a 429: seconds to wait before the next request |

A request over the limit returns **429**. Wait the `Retry-After` seconds and retry; see
[Errors](/api/errors).
